3) What stereotypes of women can you find in the 1950s and 1960s adverts? Give specific examples.
in the 1950s and 1960s , there was a lot of sexism towards women there was adverts there it was shocking for a women to be able to do something or open something with out a males help,it was the women's job to clean the house do all the cooking be a "good" wife and take care of the kids.
4) What stereotypes of women can you find in the post-2000s adverts? Give specific examples.
in the 2000s there are still stereotypes in things like magazines or adverts where women are presented as weak, the media presents women in a negative way they make it seem as if all women care about is makeup and beauty and looks, where we need men to provide for us and for our needs. there are still examples of women being discriminated against and stereotyped like the cleaning advert suggesting women are housewives and should stick to the domestic roles.
5) How do your findings suggest representations of gender have changed over the last 50 years?
50 years ago the stereotype towards women were more about cooking, cleaning , being the best wife and looking after the family . it has changed as the stereotype type towards women is that all we care about is beauty , makeup, shopping , jewellery and money sometimes you will still find a magazine or an advert being sexist or stereotypical towards women.
